A Mandalorian community is the subject of much interest and varying opinion. Most ideas on this topic can be divided into three main catagories:
1. Permanent Community
2. Nomadic Community
3. Occasional Community

Permanent Community

A perminant community is a community that remains in one location and contains permanent structures. This type of community would be an excellent option for a large community of Mandalorians. It would require the purchase of land and aquiring of appropriate permits for construction in the location desired. As discussions continue more information concerning permanent communities will be added here.

Nomadic Community

A nomadic community is a community that would have the ability to be moved to different locations. The structures would be non-perminant. The following is part of a discussion about nomadic communities:

A nomadic community would be the best by far. The benefits of a nomadic community would be:

Cheap buildings. Even simple tents could be used as housing. I think though that geodesic dome structures would be the best. They would be lightweight, sturdy, easy to move.

Free land. One problem with the perminant community would be that we would have to buy land to put it on. With a nomadic community would could simply set up our community on public land. It would essentially be camping we wouldn't be there perminantly. And we could pack up and leave anytime we wante

Choose our climate. Another benefit would be that we could choose which climate we would want to live in. We could either move around in order to stay within a certain climate zone as the seasons change. Or we could move around simply to have a change in scenery or climate.

The main problems of this would be:

Food and water resources. We wouldn't have a place that would have perminant access to food and water.

I believe the best way to overcome the food problem would be to build geodesic dome greenhouses where we could grow our own food. These would also be moveable of course. Also fishing and the raising of animals for food could also be a possibility. This solution also has another benefit in that the Mandalorians would be eating a natural more healthy diet. This would help the Mandalorians avoid all sorts of health problems.

The way to overcome the water problem would be to set up the community in a place near a water source. We could then use water filters/water purifying tablets/boiling as a way to get clean water.

Waste disposal. Another problem would be waste disposal. Where would we put the large amounts of Mandalorian waste produced? This includes bodily waste and garbage.

For the solution to the bodily waste problem the only solution I can think of would be to dig a latrine. If anybody has watched the show M*A*S*H, theirs was Mobile Army Surgical Hospital.

So essentially theirs was a nomadic community as well. Even thought they stayed in the same spot most of the time. They took care of their bodily waste problem by digging latrines.

I think the solution to the garbage problem would be simply to, first, recycle as much as we can. and two have readily available garbage containers which could be taken to the nearest city to be disposed of through their garbage collection facilities. Or if the community is located near enough to a landfill we could simply take the garbage there ourselves.

Electricity and communication. Another problem would be in supplying the community with electricity and having sufficient communications to allow contact with the outside world.

As for the solution to the electricity problem I'm not quite sure how to fix that. Maybe some sort of solar power or wind power. If we were next to a river maybe some sort of water power. But I hope that we could arrange it so that our power consumption wouldn't be that great.

Communication with the ouside world could be fixed with cellphones. I'm sure almost everybody has a cellphone. one problem could be encounteres would be keeping a certain a phone service since you would still need to pay your cellphone bills. One posiible solution to tha would be just to get one of those TracPhones or one of the other pre paid brands. I personally use one of these an find that they are great. I think they would be beneficial for use in a community like this since we could simply go to the nearest town and buy cellphone minutes and load up. This is only an idea and not required for anyone to change their CP service.

This leads me to another problem:

MONEY! How would we get money to stay in our Mandalorian community? This problem is very interesting. Where does the money come from to buy things like gas for vehicles and cellphone load.

Well I don't have a perfect solution for this so I'm just going to type a bunch of ideas floating around in my head and you can pick and choose what you like. We could sell Mandalorian products. These could be sold online or at local town. I've come up with some Mandalorian products that I would like to sell. I've come up with a Mandalorian game similar to chess and also some Mandalorian chainmaile ideas. Other products could be cloth/weavings, paintings, sculptures, music, food, books, informational videos about the community, armour products(for costumers/collectors). Those are just some ideas. Another solution that fits with the whole idea of the Mandalorians themselves would be to provide services. the Mandalorians could operate as a private security company and provide security services to businesses, cities, individuals, etc. Or we could be bounty hunters or help law enforcement. We could be involved with private military services. Another solution would depend on how much you want to be involved with the Mandalorians. You could sell your house or other property and use that money to be your funding or you could get a job outside the community. There are quite alot of possible solutions for this problem. I don't think there is one 'right' solution that would work for everyone.
